Design & Installation Washington DC
Some Chesapeake Bay native plants are disappearing. Invasive plants like English Ivy, Periwinkle, Nandina, and Phragmites have taken over natural areas like Rock Creek Park and the Chesapeake Bay’s shoreline. These invasives prefer disturbed soil, poor soil, and our heat and humidity. Our clients love it when we re introduce native plants into their gardens. Natives are adaptive to our crazy weather patterns, they attract local bees, birds, and butterflies and they require minimal watering and maintenance. Native landscapes, called Conservation Landscapes or Bayscapes in the Mid Atlantic area, are one of our specialties. We are a partner with the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay and we design and install Bayscapes for the RiverSmart Homes program in Washington DC.
